On June 17, 1921 the College Women's Club of Pasadena held its first meeting at the Shakespeare Club. Mrs. Marie Hinricks, wife of a Cal Tech professor, was elected President and dues were set at $1.00 per year. Two years later, in 1923, the Club had 206 members representing 59 colleges. Currently, over 100 years later, the Club continues to adhere to its original purposes, providing scholarships and fellowships to deserving women in local colleges as well as providing social and intellectual opportunities for women in the Pasadena area.
We are pleased to inform you that your new Executive Board has been working on your behalf to plan meetings and events for this coming year...

Share the Care
Each month we will dedicate our donations to various organizations around the Pasadena area. This is completely voluntary, and here is a preliminary list of organizations for the months ahead so you can put aside your donations:
October - toiletries (full or travel-sized soaps, lotions, shampoos and/or sanitary supplies will be collected and donated to Friends in Deed, a local women's shelter.
November - non-perishable shelf stable food donations (canned goods or dry goods) will be donated to the Pasadena Senior Center Food Pantry.
December - old blankets, towels, pillows, pet toys or pet food will be donated to the Pasadena Humane Society.
January - new or gently used socks for Pasadena Union Station
February - TBD
March - TBD
April - donations of childrens books for Families Foward
May - donations of children's books for Mayer Learning Center, CSLA
We are asking for new or gently used early childhood books, classroom supplies, and snacks with a long shelf life since the Center does not operate during the summer. (There are currently two 13-week sessions in fall and spring.) Items like boxed juices, dried fruit, etc. would be best if you want to bring snacks.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and interest in the Mayer Learning Center.
June - TBD
